As the Owner of Vacation Architect and an ASTA Verified Travel Advisor, my passion for travel is deeply rooted in family tradition, passed down from my adventurous grandparents, who explored 48 states while raising 12 children and running a dairy farm. Their legacy inspired my own travels and, in 2019, the founding of Vacation Architect. Today, I help travelers experience the joy of discovering the world, including those who may not have always seen themselves as travelers or known where to begin.
As a WorldVia Monarch Agency Owner with extensive destination and supplier training, I've traveled to more than 35 countries and have decades of personal travel experience by land, ocean and river. I specialize in Alaska cruises and cruisetours, European river cruises, European ocean cruises, and custom travel throughout Europe and the UK. I also work with travelers seeking carefully selected all-inclusive resort experiences in Mexico and the Caribbean.
My approach begins with understanding how you want to experience a destination. Whether that means navigating one of Europe's iconic rivers, pairing an Alaska cruise with time in Denali, exploring the history and islands of Greece, traveling through Italy, or discovering the landscapes and stories of the British Isles, I build journeys around each traveler's interests, pace and priorities.
Europe and the UK are particular areas of expertise. I create individualized itineraries that connect accommodations, transportation and experiences into a cohesive journey, balancing the places you've dreamed about with discoveries you may not have known to look for. Historic cities, small villages, castles, museums, local culture and the stories behind a destination often become as important to the journey as its most famous sights.
My Bachelor of Arts in Art History, with a focus on Architectural History, from the University of Cincinnati gives me another lens through which to experience and plan travel. From grand cathedrals and medieval towns to ancient ruins and the evolution of a city's streetscape, I love helping travelers understand the history, art and architecture that give a place its identity.
Firsthand travel experience and professional knowledge shape the recommendations I make, but no two Vacation Architect trips are meant to look exactly alike. My role is to help you sort through the possibilities, make confident choices and build a journey that fits the way you want to travel.

Angel Waits
Specialties: Solo Travel, Asia, Africa & Bucket-List Journeys
Travel has taken me across all seven continents, more than 40 countries and over 25 U.S. states, giving me firsthand experience with destinations and travel styles that range from familiar favorites to places well beyond the typical vacation itinerary.
My international travels began in 2018 and quickly grew into a passion for seeing as much of the world as possible. I've watched the sun rise at the Taj Mahal, explored the temples of Angkor in Cambodia, experienced safari in the Serengeti, and traveled along the Mekong through Southeast Asia. I'm especially drawn to destinations that feel extraordinary and experiences that create the kind of moments, photographs and stories you remember long after returning home.
Solo travel is a particular area of expertise. I understand both the freedom and the additional considerations that come with traveling independently, from choosing destinations and accommodations to transportation, activities and the practical details that can make a solo traveler feel more confident along the way.
Asia and Africa are among my strongest areas of firsthand destination experience, but I'm equally comfortable looking farther afield. I enjoy building ambitious itineraries for travelers who want to experience the highlights of a destination, make the most of their available time and come home feeling like they truly went somewhere remarkable. That might mean combining several cities or countries, seeking out an iconic bucket-list experience, or choosing a destination simply because it's unlike anywhere you've traveled before.
Organization and careful planning are central to my own travels and to the trips I design for my clients. When an itinerary includes multiple destinations, transportation connections and must-see experiences, I enjoy working through the logistics and connecting those pieces into a journey that makes sense.
Becoming a travel advisor grew naturally from years of friends, family and fellow travelers turning to me for destination ideas and planning advice. Today, I combine extensive firsthand travel experience with professional resources and research to help clients confidently take on destinations and itineraries they might otherwise find overwhelming to plan on their own.
